Half Dead Dave's debut, Them Salsa People, is a beautifully sweeping EP and showcases his diverse range, bringing together smooth, deep and organic synthesis with ethereal spoken word sampling.

The EP opens with the title track 'Them Salsa People', a soundtrack to one of those warm and breezy summer nights that tells the tale of dancing to jazz to the old heroes of jazz. 'No Kids, Three Money' follows on the same trail, the deep sunset house vibes is something Dave handles to perfection. Next up we got 'It's A Form Of Art', with it's meandering melodies and blissful chords it sounds very much like something from the classic Paper Recordings era. Last but not least we got 'Church Picnic', it got that feel of something from the classic Italian deep house scene but with Dave's own twist.

The way each track unfolds on this release is pure bliss, this is house that refuse to grow old, just dive in and enjoy!

It's hard to pick a fave on this amazing release from Thanasis. Exquisite music. I've not had this feeling for a while. Spotless is....spotless right? The arrangements on each track are really well crafted too. I think Warp or Young should be taking note here. redrackem
